What are Myokinesthetics?
You experience pain because your nervous system thinks you need it as a
warning that something is wrong. However, if pain outlasts its
usefulness, it can become part of your problem. Myokinesthetics (Myokin
for short) are refined techniques that re-educate your nervous system to
relieve many kinds of pain and numbness when they have outlived their
usefulness.
Myokinesthetics are fast and gentle techniques that work with your
nervous system to relieve pain without surgery, medication, nor costly
and time-consuming treatments.
Is Myokin weird 'far-out' stuff?
Absolutely not. Myokinesthetics are based in traditional Western
Medical Model theory and practice. We have observed what any
ordinary Doctor could observe. And that is simply that it's
possible, using gentle muscle movements, to relieve pain, numbness, and
many internal organ issues without resorting to drugs and surgery.
During a Myokinesthetic treatment you are fully clothed, and receive no
oils nor crèmes. The treatments are typically 10 to 20
minutes long.
How does it work?
Injury, muscle strain, and other stressful events can cause physical imbalance,
shortened muscles, and other destructive compensations as your brain struggles
to maintain your upright position. The brain reacts to imbalances
by sending messages through your nervous system, instructing muscles
to compensate and rebalance your body, even if it means causing you pain
as a result.
According to Myokinesthetics developer Dr. Michael Uriarte, the major difference
between Myokin and other techniques lies in "which muscles
we treat together to clear the entire peripheral nervous system
pathway" of the cause of pain.
As a
Myokinesthetic specialist, I identify first the nerve pathways involved in
your pain. Then I treat the muscles along that pathway to encourage
your nervous system to restore muscle balance, and remove your pain.
